Many South African communities face deep-seated challenges, leaving children marginalised without the academic and emotional support they need to thrive.
MathMoms, a non-profit organisation (NPO), was created to change this, offering a safe, nurturing space where foundation-phase learners develop essential math skills, guided by women from their own communities who assist maths teachers in the classroom.
At the heart of this initiative are the MathMoms, unemployed women trained to support learners grasp foundational maths, and Mentors, experienced educators who guide and nurture both the Moms and children..
